Privacy Policy
Effective June 16, 2026
TrailPulse.AI (“TrailPulse.AI”, “we”, “us”) is operated by TrailPulse.AI LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using TrailPulse.AI(the “Service”) you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you sign in with a third party, we receive your basic profile and email from that provider.
- Rider profile. Optional details you enter — age, weight, height, max and resting heart rate, and FTP — used to personalize ride analysis (calories, training intensity, recovery). You can edit or remove these at any time.
- Connected fitness services. When you connect a service such as Strava or Garmin, we import the activities you authorize: GPS tracks, date and time, distance, elevation, and (when available) heart rate, power, and cadence. We access this data only with your explicit authorization and only to provide the Service to you.
- Content you submit. Trail condition reports, comments, and photos you post, along with their timestamps.
- Technical data. Standard server logs and a session cookie to keep you signed in. If you enable notifications, a browser push subscription token.
How we use your information
- Match your rides to trail segments and show your times, efforts, and personal records.
- Generate optional AI ride analysis and trail-condition summaries.
- Display community trail conditions, reports, and maps.
- Send notifications you opt into (trail status changes, weather, fire updates).
- Operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Data from Garmin and Strava
Activity data obtained from Garmin Connect or Strava is used solely to provide the Service to the account holder who authorized the connection. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it except with the processors below as needed to run the Service. You can disconnect a service at any time from your account settings, and you can revoke our access directly through Strava or Garmin Connect. Disconnecting stops further imports; you can also delete data already imported (see Your choices). Our use of Garmin and Strava data complies with their respective platform and API terms.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf to operate the Service:
- Hosting & storage — our application host and database provider, and blob storage for uploaded photos.
- AI analysis — when you request ride analysis or condition summaries, the relevant ride/weather data is sent to a third-party AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) to generate the text.
- Email — our email provider, for verification and account messages.
- Push notifications — your browser’s push service, if you opt in.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the Service.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and imported activity data, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations. Backups are purged on a rolling basis.
Your choices
- Access or correct your profile information in your account settings.
- Disconnect Strava or Garmin at any time to stop further imports.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us (see below).
- Turn notifications on or off at any time.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the Service.
